Alive and kicking in Bangkok
Finally here!!!
And what a city. The first impressions are of chaos and westernization, but it does have a lot of character. From monks, temples, wats to tuk-tuk drivers and merchants selling everything under the sun. Accommodation is cheap about $4 cnd a room, food is great and very cheap, the only problem is the price of beer.... hmmm beer.
The journey to get here went smoothly, except for Air Canada forcing me to buy a an open ticket to Australia for $1400, but it is refundable and it seems everybody has to follow the same scheme of events. Jetlag is massive, but I'm to happy to dwell on it.
Osaka airport has to the most beautiful and organized airport I have ever seen. The Japanese have fun warnings about cigarettes, little cartoons indicating that if you throw the butt down the drain, it may harm rats that live in the city... hmmm, do we really want this to happen???
Anyways, so far so good, will post soon.
